First Public Release! Noblesse Oblige v0.1.5

Welcome! This is the first public release for my game, Noblesse Oblige.

Changelog for v0.1.5
-First public release!
-This update contains the prelude section of the game's plot.

-2 dungeons

What does it mean to be nobility? Is it no more than an inherited title, or does it hold some greater meaning? To some, nobility is not merely a station to be held, but an obligation to be met, and yet... Can such convictions hold firm in the face of intrigue, betrayal, and overwhelming odds? The game follows the story of Alexander, a young, intelligent nobleman on the continent of Velonia, and explores themes of love, nobility, political intrigue, and obligation in a carefully crafted High Fantasy world.

The game is built in the RPG Maker VX Ace engine, but with considerable scripting work to make a unique experience. Essential story moments draw on a visual novel style, while the combat system is my attempt to breathe new life into traditional turn-based combat by introducing many new mechanics.

Each character in Noblesse Oblige is unique, defined by a set of custom mechanics and passive effects (which can easily be checked from the status menu). No mashing the attack button every turn to be found here! In addition to their combat mechanics, each character in the party and some outside of it will have opinions of your actions that color their relationship to the player and may effect story events. I'd prefer to avoid giving the player only an illusion of choice where at most one or two major choices shape your game experience.

Some characters, including two of the protagonists, currently use placeholder graphics that I would like to commission custom assets to replace, among other things that would require interest and funding. Thus, I intend to start a Patreon account for this game, but I will refrain from doing so until I've released version v0.2, as I would like to prove I am able to make consistent and timely updates to the game.

If you enjoyed the game, please don't hesitate to give me feedback through this blog or whatever forum referred you!
